Home Care Nurse Specialist Nurse Positions

Home Care Nurse Overview

Home care nurses work one-on-one with patients in their homes. They travel in and around a defined “territory” or work area and facilitate care of people who need nursing expertise outside the hospital setting. These nurses are usually independent thinkers but excellent team players – total patient advocates with expert people skills and experience in a medical-surgical environment.

RN license and one year of clinical experience required
Requires clinical reasoning, definitive decision making and clinical thinking
Must be willing to be a “road warrior” and travel extensively
Average pay: $45,000-$76,000/year
