Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse Positions

Medical/Surgical Nurse Overview

These registered nurses provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures. They also attend to those who are being treated with pharmaceuticals (medications) to manage illness.

Elements of care may include patient education, pain management, case management, discharge planning and other interventions to restore or maintain patients' physical and psychosocial health.

Master of all trades, specializing in multiple facets of patient care
Act as "detectives" in patient care to facilitate best outcomes for patients
BSN preferred
Average pay: $21.75-$35 per hour
