Nurse Educator Registered Nurse Positions

Nurse Educator Nurse Overview

Responsible for teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurses and guaranteeing the competence and advancement of practicing nurses. Working within the classroom and in the practice setting, nurse educators are responsible for preparing lesson plans, inspiring, instructing and encouraging nurses, and fostering in them an appreciation of the nursing profession.

The educator role incorporates a variety of functions, including teaching, research, and patient care.

Solid clinical skills and problem-solving skills
Expert practitioners in areas of specialization
Consult on clinical practice and work with staff at all levels, up to and including senior leadership
Provide on-unit advanced education and professional development
BSN required; MSN preferred
Strong communication skills
Average pay: $70,000 per year
