Job Details: |
Under the direct supervision of the RN the incumbent administers care based upon his/her training and experience to designated patients. The position exists to assist the registered nurse in provision of care to patients.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE /
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Requires that the nursing student be actively enrolled in an NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing program.
- Requires completion of at least one semester of clinicals.
- Requires basic knowledge of procedures for performing assigned functions.
- Requires knowledge to observe and assist in the assessment of patient's condition.
- Requires ability to detect and report obvious and/or dangerous changes in patient's condition.
- Requires general awareness and understanding of legal implication of patient care activities.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 1 month of hire or upon completion of department orientation.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to Patient Care Policy #PC 161.
