Patient Care Internships (PCI) offer nursing students unique opportunities to learn and develop nursing skills in a hands-on setting. You'll work directly with patients and professional staff at one of the largest and busiest healthcare systems in the nation. Two PCI programs are available - one for students preparing for emergency room nursing careers, and one for all other nursing students, including those with an interest in perioperative careers. Only the best and most motivated nursing students are selected for these competitive and paid employee positions.

Eligibility

  • Must be employed as a Patient Care Intern at IU Health
  • Must be actively enrolled in an approved nursing school
  • Must maintain a competitive GPA

Level 1

Option 1 - $1000/semester
Part-time status
Agreement Parameters:

  • Proof of enrollment in an approved nursing program
  • Patient Care Intern clinical commitment of 40 hours per pay period
  • Post graduate commitment of 6 months full-time employment for each semester of funding

Option 2 - $1000/semester
Supplement status
Agreement Parameters:

  • Proof of enrollment in an approved nursing program
  • Patient Care Intern clinical commitment of 24 hours per pay period/192 per semester
  • Post graduate commitment of 6 months full-time employment for each semester of funding

Level 2

$500/semester
Supplement status
Agreement Parameters

  • Proof of enrollment in an approved nursing program
  • Patient Care Intern clinical commitment of 12 hours per pay period/96 per semester
  • Post graduate commitment of 6 months full-time employment for each semester of funding

Level 3

$250/semester
Supplement status
Agreement Parameters

  • Proof of enrollment in an approved nursing program
  • Patient Care Intern clinical commitment of 8 hours per pay period/32 per semester
  • Post graduate commitment of 3 months full-time or part-time employment for each semester of funding

Application Process

  • Complete and fax application found below
  • Schedule appointment to complete paperwork
  • Submit proof of enrollment in an approved nursing school
